How to Register and Set Up Your Shop Account with Lynx Services
Account Registration:
Start by visiting the Lynx Services Login Page. To create and register your account, be sure to use your EIN. It’s important to note that Lynx requires you to change your password every 90 days to maintain security.
Post-Registration View:
Once you have successfully registered, you will be greeted with a confirmation screen that resembles the attached example.
Accessing METRYX® ISR:
To set up your shop account, look for the left-side blue menu and select "METRYX® ISR."
Filling Out METRYX® ISR Sections:
The METRYX ISR interface features a green and white layout, divided into several essential sections. Make sure to edit all sections with your business information:
- Company Information
- Contact Information
- Remittance Information
- Accreditations and Licenses
- Recalibration Capabilities
- Glass Programs
- Company Profile Items
- Service Centers
Setting Up Service Centers:
Within the Service Centers section, you can define your service area for rock chip repairs and windshield replacements. Think about your travel preferences; for instance, traveling to distant locations like Utica, MS, for a $65 rock chip repair may not be cost-effective. However, a windshield replacement covered by insurance could make the trip worthwhile.
Important Notes:
In Mississippi, glass shops do not require any specific accreditations or licenses. Be sure to enroll in "LYNX Services Participants" under the Glass Programs section after completing your profile information.

Access the Form: Visit the Safelite Solutions Network Help Center. On the right side under Guides and Forms, select "Add your company to our national glass shop database". This action will download a PDF form for you to complete. Completing the Form: Ensure you fill out the form completely and submit it back to SGC. Required documents include a W9 Form, a copy of your Business License, and Proof of Business Insurance (with a minimum of $1 million liability insurance required). Network Membership: You must be in the Safelite Solutions Network database for 1 year before you can "Apply for membership in the Safelite Solutions Network". Until then, you are classified as "out of network", which means Safelite will not refer jobs to you. However, customers can still request your shop, and jobs can still be assigned to your shop, allowing you to bill them for the work. Membership Requirements: To gain membership in the network, you must undergo background checks on the owner and employees and complete yearly training certifications. Personal Perspective: Recognized certifications are often conducted out of state, typically in Texas or further. I am satisfied remaining "out of network" and providing customers the option to utilize insurance. When customers choose to use insurance, I call with them using our business phone to set up the claim and immediately ensure it gets assigned to our shop.

There are various software solutions available to streamline the process of invoice creation and insurance submissions, including OmegaEDI, eDirectGlass, and PGW EverythingAutoGlass. These platforms provide essential tools for quoting, scheduling, creating invoices, and facilitating submissions to insurance companies. Typically, these submissions incur an additional cost ranging from $1 to $3, depending on the software chosen. For my business, I utilize OmegaEDI to manage quoting, scheduling, creating invoices, and ordering glass. To invoice insurance, I simply download the invoice and upload it directly to the insurance company's website for processing.

Each invoice must include essential details such as the Job Number, Bill To, Remit Payment Information, Customer Information, Vehicle Information, and the Authorization # alongside the Date of Loss.
When using NAGS part numbers, it's vital to include these in the invoice. Each insurance work order will outline a percentage that can be billed based on the NAGS List Price, plus labor (measured in hours) and kit prices. Typically, kits encompass dam, primer, and urethane.
For additional authorizations, extras like rain sensors, moldings, garnishes, or recalibration may need prior approval. Authorization can often be acquired instantly through the TPA website.
Regarding recalibration costs, dynamic or static recalibrations can range from $275 to $350, depending on the insurance provider. If both types are performed together, they come at a flat rate of $500.
When it comes to OEM glass and parts, it's crucial to request OEM parts before installation. Other authorizations can be obtained either on-site or post-job, prior to billing. Note that StateFarm will not authorize OEM glass without a failed recalibration report on the installation of OEE glass. This means you have to install OEE glass first and only if the glass fails to recalibrate can you request OEM.
In terms of submission requirements, Safelite mandates a signed work order, a signed invoice, proof of purchase receipts, and an ADAS report. They also require a second invoice through their "Fast Track" option available on their website. Lynx requires a signed invoice, an ADAS report, and proof of purchase for OEM items.
Lastly, keep in mind that pricing considerations for glass can vary based on the NAGS price, alongside discounts that are specific to each insurance company. Billable hours are documented in yearly catalogs at the Pilkington will-call counter, and sometimes stacks are available for shops to take at no charge.
